In this paper we study the use of African American language variety, Black English, in the context of three Quentin Tarantino’s films: “Pulp Fiction” (1994), “Jackie Brown” (1997) and “Django Unchained” (2012). Namely these films present the largest amount of various communicative situations between characters both of white and African American origin. The research is aimed at describing the specifics and main features of Black English at all language levels. The study presents results of the analysis of the most frequent and systematic features of the language variety in Tarantino’s motion pictures. Besides, the authors provide a comparison between the Ebonics in the source language and its adaptation in Russian dubbing of the mentioned films.
