The paper considers the artistic image which dominates a certain historical and cultural period and makes it possible to identify a work of art. The purpose of the paper is to reveal the causes underlying the split of the central image in the Silver Age culture. The authors conclude that despite the mosaic culture of the early 20th century, it forms two central images – the man from the masses and the Creator, who is not only the Creator of the work, but also the viewer, who acts as a co-Creator, and co-author.
