Abstract

The paper examines how special concepts formed within the framework of migration studies influence the construction of social reality and the formation of discourses around the phenomenon of migration. Based on the M. Foucault’s discursive-analytical method, are considered the questions of the transformation of scientific terms into the subject of scientific debate; the factors that determine the emergence of a specific concept; the interaction and mutual influence of social science and social reality. It concludes that the modern everyday perception of migration is conditioned by the influence of science on society. The concepts underlying the migration discourse can and should be the subjects of scientific study as permanently changing elements.
