Abstract

The ability to remain calm in the modern consumer society is vital for preserving the individuality, returning her lost happiness «to be herself». The basis of finding tranquility in pre-Islamic culture is tahwil-transfer of attention from the negative to the positive. It is postulated that the main goal of the person walking the road of wisdom is the ability to choose the best at each particular moment in time. Knowing that all desires will be realized in their turn, a person becomes happy and ecstatic, invulnerable in the face of change.
