Abstract

The paper traces the evolution of works authored by the American writer Paul Auster, from his memoirs prose to the social and realistic line in the novel «4 3 2 1» published in January, 2017. The paper discusses three main steps of genre transformation in the writer’s prose (modernism > a postmodernism > social realism / post-postmodernism).
