The XV World Semiotic Congress was held in early September 2022. The panel “Semiotics of architecture: Architecture and territories of difference – A homage to Pierre Pellegrino” was organized there. Within the framework of the panel, the issues of modeling the cultural landscape, the urban environment as a semiotic system were discussed. Religious space was discussed speculatively, as a concept of paradise, as well as in a practical context, in the sense of using different symbolic colors in temple complexes. Topics about the architecture of minimalism, unfinished architecture as a cultural project, and the architectural space of city squares were presented. The concepts of spatial production of meanings by Husserl and Wittgenstein were comprehended as a theoretical background.
