The article introduces the concept of the travels and examines its differences from the literary travelogue. The theme is explored through the musical travelogues of Russian composers P.I. Tchaikovsky and M.I. Glinka in Italy and Spain, analyzing the composersʼ interactions with the sound and musical landscapes of these coun-tries. The influence of local culture on the composers' creativity and their engage-ment with musical sites and literary traditions are discussed. It examines how travel stimulated the creation of famous musical works and influenced the development of Russian musical culture. On the other hand, the musical travelogues of major com-posers contributed to the development of the musical landscape of cities and re-gions.
