Journeying is one of the oldest practices in the world culture. Over the centuries, many meanings associated with movement in space have been accumulated, as well as many creative interpretations of movement on the face of the Earth. The seman-tics of journey can be represented in geometric forms – vectors or circular move-ments. It can be associated with such philosophical categories as freedom, self-knowledge and transformational experience. In the world culture, the path is one of the basic metaphors associated with the process of thinking and life itself. The jour-ney can be interpreted as a reading of the text of the cultural landscape, or as a kind of probation and/or initiation. It is associated with artistic culture and generates many images, including fantastic and virtual ones, but based on the principles of travelogue. In the modern world, the most common type of travel is recreational, which provokes the development of transport and infrastructure on a global scale, thereby gaining the importance of a structural element connecting the global soci-ocultural space into a single whole.
