The article examines the concept of “ecological sin”, which has recently appeared in ecotheological discourse; the author identifies the main stages in the development of this concept in the texts and speeches of religious (Christian) and secular thinkers, its didactic potential, as well as the vulnerabilities of the idea of “ecological sin”. The author comes to the conclusion about the probable inconsistency of the term “ecological sin” from both Christian and secular points of view.
