Abstract

The article is based on the analysis of the features of the mimetic model, which determined the main trends in the development of the French historical novel of the first half of the XIX century. On the basis of the historical and typological approach, the transformations of ideas about historical truth are studied, which are embodied in various modifications of the genre: in the epic novel, romantic, realistic, historical and adventure novel. It is proved that the new stage of historicization of thinking allowed writers to problematize the understanding of the connections between fiction and factual material that exists outside of art and has accumulated experience of interpretation in previous centuries. It is noted that novel narratives form the "effect of reality", contemporary perspective of non-modern, and model the author's strategies for mythologizing mythologization of history and the genre.
