In search of «post-metaphysical» Philosophy (OPEN ACCESS)

Abstract

The article aims to identify within contemporary Western Philosophy a special group of theories which claim to be «post-metaphysical». The article analyzes the most influential theories of this kind. These theories contain an outline of the history of metaphysics which is supposed to show why metaphysics has to be replaced with a certain alternative. The alternative is K.-O. Apel’s «transcendental semiotics», J. Habermas’s «communicative action theory» and R. Rorty’s version of neopragmatism.
