Abstract

The article interprets the psychiatric structure of the heterotopic space. The material of the performative expedition of conceptual artist Sergey Bugayev (Africa) to the Simferopol Mental Hospital substantiates the hypothesis that, at the level of the language, insanity can be a heterotopic resource, establishing its vertical (high and ordinary madness) and horizontal (output, descent, marginalization) axes. The narratological approach enables the researcher to observe how the topic of madness affects the organization of the structure of the heterotopic narrative and the systems of viewpoints.
