Cultural landscape
The issue describes the current state and further prospects of the cultural landscape as an interdisciplinary concept. The history of research in Russia shows that the concept is closely related to the ideological and social processes in the country. The concept of the cultural landscape played an important role in overcoming the dehumanized nature of Soviet geography and largely contributed to a «spatial turn» in humanitarian knowledge. The potential of interdisciplinary cooperation between the Earth Sciences and the Humanities within the framework of the «cultural landscape» concept became evident in the complex study of urban, rural, ethno- and linguo-cultural issues.
